**Rarity:** Uncommon
**Inheritance:** Polygenic
**Category:** Pattern
**Typical adult price:** $180 to $450

**Definition.** A Brindle crested gecko has irregular, broken or reticulated dark transverse pattern, a descriptive appearance that overlaps with tiger.

Heavier, more irregular banding than tiger, often described as "broken" or "marbled" tiger.

Brindle commonly describes broken or interconnected dark banding. It is not defined only by stronger contrast or by whether markings reach the flanks. Observe direction, interruptions and branching together.

**History.** Recognized alongside tiger as breeders noted both patterns appeared in the same lines at different expression levels.

**Key features:**
- Broken or interconnected dark markings
- Irregular band widths, spacing and continuity
- Terminology overlaps with tiger

**How to identify it:**
- Follow branching and interruptions across the back and flanks

**Lookalikes and how to tell them apart:**
- Tiger (https://geckinspect.com/MorphGuide/tiger): Tiger usually emphasizes recognizable transverse bands; both can have irregular edges and flank markings.

**Often combined with:** Tiger, Extreme Brindle, Red Base, Olive, Chocolate, Harlequin
