Frost Line
Pale, frosted-looking animals frequently combined with Sable and Lilly White. Often used as a feeder line into broader white-wall projects.
Frost (sometimes "Frosty") describes a pale, near-white expression that some breeders maintain as a line, often paired with Sable or Lilly White to produce frosted-looking Lilly Whites and Sables. Listings such as "Frost line Sable Lilly White" appear regularly on MorphMarket, signaling that the line is recognized as a distinct contributor to the overall look. Like most aesthetic lines, the boundary between Frost and adjacent pale-base projects (cream, moonglow, white wall) is fuzzy.
Founder: Multiple breeders, no single founder consistently credited. Origin: United States. Established: mid-2010s onward. Typical price: $200-$700.
How to identify the line
- Compare to a Cream or Moonglow animal; Frost reads cooler and less yellow
- Best diagnostic is the appearance of offspring when bred to a known non-Frost line
- In Frost x Sable combos, the contrast between dark Sable saturation and frosted highlights is more dramatic
